5 Things To Do While Glamping

Moonlit Canopy is located at Pleasant Valley Golf Course, 2.5 hours from Winnipeg, and 1.5 hours from Brandon. Set in the Pembina Valley, our glamping domes are surrounded by nature. While each of our domes is fully equipped with everything you need to stay in, we encourage you to head out into the great outdoors and enjoy all that the surrounding areas have to offer! Here are our top 5 things to do while glamping at Moonlit Canopy.

Take a trip to Pelican Lake

Fishing, swimming, and boating are just a few of the water sports available to you while glamping at  Moonlit Canopy. Pelican Lake is just a short walk away from your luxurious dome. The lake has been a popular recreational area since the turn of the 20th century when trains brought visitors, cottages, and campers from Brandon and Winnipeg. Pelican Lake is full of Northern Pike, Walleye, and Yellow Perch, so be sure to bring your fishing poles!

At the north end of the lake, Pelican Lake Yacht Club offers a premier destination for those who want to learn how to sail and nearby parks offer playgrounds, docks, and groomed sand beaches.

Snowmobiling, Ice-Fishing

If you’re visiting Moonlit Canopy glamping domes in the winter months, there are still lots of fun things to do. Pelican Lake is well known for its ice-fishing derbies throughout the winter and early spring. Snowmobiling is also a popular pastime during those coldest months in Manitoba. There are many local trails to explore in the area, just remember to let others know where you’re headed and when you expect to be back!

Visit Ninette

Ninette is a beautiful little town just 25 minutes from our Moonlit Canopy glamping domes. Take a step back in time, and walk through this quaint village that used to be home to The Manitoba Sanatorium, locally called The San, which opened in Ninette along Pelican Lake’s north shore in 1909. Rich with history, Ninette was also once home to Terry Fox’s grandparents! Terry was baptized in the local church, and he and his siblings spent many summers swimming and fishing in Pelican Lake.

Stay In!

If you’re really keen on some R&R, Moonlit Canopy is fully equipped for you to simply stay in! Relax on the glamping dome patio and soak in the hot tub. Hang out inside and snuggle up on the couch with a good book. Don’t forget to bring some of your favourite board games and play them at the dining table set for four!
